About Us

Kiss The Cook is a family business based in Wiltshire. It was born from a desire to provide professional quality kitchen clothing with a difference. Our love of cooking has brought us through the pub and restaurant business and we were completely bored with the current professional kitchen clothing available, so we decided to make some changes for cooking at home and even if you cook professionally. Why not wear kitchen clothing that matches your mood and makes you feel good too? Our designs are fun and a great conversation point when you have tired of all those political discussions….

Our Products

All Kiss The Cook chefs’ jackets, trousers and aprons are made to professional specifications by our UK specialist manufacturer and embroidered and embellished by us in Wiltshire. Most of our chefs’ black and white jackets are 100% cotton drill and our coloured jackets and trousers are a polycotton mix. All our aprons are 100% cotton.

Table cloths and napkins are manufactured to hotel standard specifications – you need to know that you are purchasing items that will last for a considerable time – we don’t agree with the disposable society we now live in and we like to buy items that are going to last and last, hopefully our grandchildren will still use them!
We supply only the best quality towelling goods and personally prefer Egyptian cotton which has longer loops and therefore softer in use.

Kiss The Cook aims to source products in the UK, this is not always possible but over time we will endeavour to provide UK manufactured goods and do our bit to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprints. Our goals include sourcing eco-friendly threads and packaging supplies as well as clothing and other goods. From time to time we will update you on our progress through our website.

Over the coming months we will add more products to our website, so bookmark this site and pay us a visit when you are bored of playing Solitaire and feel in need of some gratuitous shopping for yourself or anyone else, but only if they have been nice to you, or good or just deserve cheering up with a present.

Caring For Your Purchases

When you buy cotton items please remember that they will shrink (usually about 5%) in the first wash and do not dry them in a tumble dryer. Follow the care instructions on your item. Think about what your Mum told you and don’t wash white items with coloured items. Remove the popper buttons from jackets before they are washed and put them somewhere where you can find them again. If the item you have purchased has been embellished with Swarovski crystals or sequins then iron on the reverse or you will dislodge them (and probably break your Mum’s iron too). Applique items should be ironed on the reverse. If you have purchased an item with silk applique then please wash and treat as silk even though the applique may be on a cotton item such as an apron.

The embroidery threads used by Kiss The Cook are manufactured to be light-fast, endure high-temperature washing and withstand rubbing and very mild bleaching processes, therefore it is the most durable thread for catering and work wear. (It is also recommended for swimwear but we are not planning to sell you any of that. Mind you, there may be some chefs and cooks out there who want to cook while submerged in water…do please let us know.)
